Terms of use

Last updated 12 September 2026

Written in plain language so it can actually be read. It is not legal advice. If anything here conflicts with a right you have where you live, that right wins.

What this covers

These terms apply to OptiSeek at optiseek.ai and app.optiseek.ai. Using the service means accepting them. If you don't, don't use it — and if something here seems wrong, say so at hello@optiseek.ai rather than assuming.

Early access

OptiSeek is in early access and accounts are created by invitation. That means, in practice:

  • Features can change, and occasionally break. Some will be rebuilt in ways that don't preserve exactly how they behaved before.
  • There is no uptime commitment and no support-response commitment.
  • Usage allowances apply to every plan, so one account cannot exhaust capacity for everyone. What they are is set out on the pricing page and shown in your account.
  • Prices and allowances may change. Anyone already paying will be told directly and in advance — never by a surprise on a statement.

Plans and payment

Every invited account starts on a free allowance, which is a one-off rather than a monthly one. Paid plans are monthly, priced in US dollars, and charged in advance through Stripe — your card details go to them, not to us.

Stripe is the merchant of record for every payment. It is the seller for the transaction itself: it takes the money, works out and pays over any sales tax or VAT owed where you live, issues your receipt, and can answer questions about the payment directly. OptiSeek is still the service you are using, and still who you deal with about the product, your account, or anything the software did or did not do.

  • A plan renews automatically each month, at the price shown when you subscribed plus any tax, until you cancel it. The date it next renews is shown in your account.
  • Cancel from the billing page in your account, in the same few clicks it took to subscribe. There is no form to fill in, nobody to email, and no retention offer to sit through.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you are in, and then move to the free allowance — nothing is deleted for cancelling.
  • Changing plan mid-month is handled by Stripe, which prorates the difference in money. What you have already used stays used: your allowance becomes the new plan's, counted from the same renewal date. Moving up gives you the larger allowance straight away. Moving down can leave you with nothing left this month if you have already spent more than the smaller plan allows — the work is done and paid for, and the new, lower allowance starts fresh at your next renewal.
  • Allowances reset at each renewal and do not roll over. An unused allowance is not refundable and not bankable.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe retries it over several days. Your plan keeps working while that happens; if it ultimately fails, the account moves to the free allowance rather than being locked.
  • Prices exclude any sales tax or VAT that applies where you are, which Stripe calculates at checkout.

Some accounts hold a code that covers a plan for a period, or permanently. Where that period ends, the account moves to the free allowance and nothing is charged automatically — you would have to choose a plan yourself.

Refunds

If OptiSeek did not do what this site says it does, tell us. We would rather return the money than argue about a month of software, and in practice we will — but this is us saying what we do, not a guarantee you can hold us to for any reason at all. Write to hello@optiseek.ai and say what happened.

What we will not refund is a month you used and simply did not get a job out of. The service produces evaluations and drafts; it does not produce outcomes, and nothing here promises one. If you are in a jurisdiction with a statutory cancellation right, that right applies regardless of anything in this section.

Because Stripe is the merchant of record, it can also refund a payment on its own initiative — typically within 60 days, and often to settle a dispute before it becomes a chargeback. That is Stripe's decision to make rather than ours, and it can happen without us being asked. Stripe also applies cooling-off rights where the law where you live requires them.

What OptiSeek does not do

It does not submit applications for you. Every application is one you send yourself, on the company's own site, having read what you were sending.

It does not promise you a job, an interview, or a response. It generates drafts and assessments from the information you give it. The assessments are opinions, produced by a language model, and can be wrong — including confidently. A score is a prompt to think, not a verdict.

It will not invent facts about you. Generated materials draw only on accomplishments you have saved and approved, which is a deliberate limit. It remains your responsibility to read anything before you send it, and everything you send is your statement about yourself, not ours.

Not advice, and not a recruiter

Evaluations, offer analyses, interview questions and every draft the service produces are generated by a language model from what you gave it. They are not legal, financial, tax, immigration or employment advice, and using OptiSeek does not put anyone in a professional relationship of that kind with you.

An offer evaluation is the clearest case: it compares numbers you typed against a floor you set. It does not know your tax position, your visa status, what your equity is actually worth, or what you agreed to somewhere else. Where a decision turns on any of that, ask someone qualified before acting on what you read here. The same notice appears in the product, next to the output it applies to, rather than only on this page.

We are also not an employment agency, a recruiter or a staffing firm. We do not represent you to employers, do not submit anything on your behalf, and are not paid by anyone hiring.

Your account and your content

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your Google login secure. Invite codes are for you — sharing one just means someone else uses the spot we were holding for you.

Your content stays yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: storing it, processing it (including through Anthropic's API), and showing it back to you. We claim no ownership and will not publish it, sell it, or use it to train models.

What we ask of you

  • Upload material about your own career, or material you have permission to use.
  • Don't upload someone else's confidential information, or anything you are under an obligation not to share.
  • Don't try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or work around the limits of the service.
  • Don't use it to misrepresent yourself. The product is built specifically to make that harder; treating that as an obstacle is a misuse of it.
  • Don't resell access or run it on someone else's behalf as a service without asking us first.

Accounts that ignore this can be suspended or closed. Where a judgement call is involved, we'll tell you why.

No warranty, and limits on liability

OptiSeek is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be available, error-free, or that its output will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses — including lost opportunities, lost earnings, or a job you did or did not get. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, and where you have paid us nothing, to fifty US dollars. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Ending it

Cancel a plan whenever you like from your account; you keep it until the end of the period you paid for. Close the account entirely by emailing us and everything attached to it is deleted. We may suspend or end an account for a breach of these terms, or if we stop running the service — in which case we will give notice, time to get your material out, and a refund of anything paid for a period we do not deliver.

Who you are contracting with

OptiSeek is run by Gary Chiang, a sole proprietor based in California. Any reference to “we”, “us” or “OptiSeek” in these terms means him. There is no company in between — if that changes, this page will say so before it takes effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of California, United States, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer somewhere else, this does not take away the protections of your own country's law — those apply whatever this paragraph says.

Changes

These terms will change as the product does. Material changes will be emailed to anyone with an account rather than quietly edited in, and the date at the top always reflects the current version. Anything that changes what you pay is notified before it takes effect, not after — and you can cancel in response without owing the new price.
